As part of our school’s focus on improving Literacy outcomes for all students, Wongan Hills District High School runs a number of programs under the MultiLit banner.
MultiLit stands for Making Up Lost Time in Literacy and is an intensive reading program designed to increase children’s progress in reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension and spelling. It is a research based initiative of Macquarie University in NSW, who have been producing reading programs for over 20 years.
MiniLit is designed for young children in Years 1 and 2 who are struggling to learn to read.
MacqLit is a reading program for children in Years 3 and above who need some help with their reading. A trained Education Assistant works with students using the carefully structured MacqLit materials.
