Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Premier, Hon. Mark McGowan, and the Minister for Education, Hon. Sue Ellery, have outlined a ‘soft start’ to Term 2 for public schools as part of the Covid-19 response. This means that parents and carers of all school aged children can choose to send their children to school.

Classes have been timetabled for students attending school and work packages will be available for students working from home. Work packages will be available from the front office tomorrow from 11 am. Staff will endeavour to make contact with students who are working from home within a week to see how they are coping.

There has been direction to Principals from the Department of Education in the following areas.

  1. Cleaning and Hygiene:

There will be a full-time cleaner on grounds for the entirety of the school day. The cleaning program includes;

  • Playgrounds four times per day
  • Toilets four times per day
  • Sports equipment
  • High use areas such as door handles, seating etc.

The playground located at the front of the school will be out-of-bounds for everyone.

  1. Parents are requested to drop-off and pick-up their children at either the front of the school carparks (off Quinlan Street) or behind the school at the Pre Primary building or the walkway between the Home Economics room and the Pre Primary building. Staff will be in attendance at these areas to help younger children to their classes.

Please see the accompanying map that demonstrates student access.

  1. Students are strongly recommended to bring their own water bottle and refill during the day. Students are also encouraged not to use the bubblers on the water fountains.

  1. Under no circumstances are children who are unwell to attend school. Any child who presents unwell at school will have parents requested to collect them.

  1. Please ensure students who are returning to school bring their stationery back with them tomorrow.

If you are required to attend the school, you must report to the front office.

Please contact the school if you have any queries.

Yours sincerely,
